1Dear Diary, Tonight there was a big in our town, Karmiel. The wind was very strong, and the rain hit the windows all evening. At about eight o'clock, while I was doing my homework, all the lights went out. My computer stopped, and the fridge was quiet. The whole street was dark.
2At first, I was a little . My little sister, Shira, started to cry. Dad found a in the kitchen drawer. Mom took out some and lit them carefully.
3Then something nice happened. Without TV or phones, we all sat together in the living room. Dad told us funny stories about when he was a boy, and we played a guessing game. Shira stopped crying and laughed so much! We ate cold pizza by candlelight, and it tasted great.
4The came back at half past ten. The lights were so bright that we all closed our eyes. I was happy, but also a little sad. I think tonight was one of the best evenings we've had in a long time. Maybe we should switch everything off once a week!
