Hourly surprise envelopes

An adult cuts the solid outline, folds the dashed lines and glues the side tabs to the bottom flap. Leave the top flap free to open. Add a small item or folded page from your activity kit.

Avoid small parts for young children. Any snack must suit the child’s age and abilities, with the child upright and supervised. In a car, stop safely for food.

Frequently asked questions

Must we open an envelope exactly on the hour?

No. The numbers help you prepare. If a child is sleeping or happily occupied, save the surprise for later.

Do I need new toys?

No. Use suitable things you already have: a folded activity page, a note or a familiar little activity.
